Wonders of the Small Church

The small church has incredible importance and value, although it may not carry the pomp of churches in Europe and elsewhere. I have one particular small church in mind: ours.

Sunday, April 19 was certainly an eventful day for our parish. Not only did the community receive a beautiful icon of St Gregory Palamas on behalf of Bessie Liapes but we also welcomed Katrina Fetzko back after an extended absence while recuperating from having her third child - John Michael Fetzko.

Fr Marc recited Prayers For a Woman on the Fortieth Day After Childbirth." that includes 'Prayers for the Mother' and 'Prayers for the Child.' John's baptism will be in two weeks on Sunday, May 3rd. The Fetzko family is proud and honored to announce that our own Choirmaster Jason Geeza will be John's Godfather and close friend - Victoria Villano - will be John's Godmother.

John's older brother Alex served in the altar this day under the watchful guidance of Andrew Dolan, Ziv Kaputa and mentored by parish president - Greg Zlotnick.

At the conclusion of Divine Liturgy the children enjoyed a warm, sunny day and the annual Easter egg hunt. This year the kids set a new record by discovering all the eggs in less than five minutes! It was quite a sight. Many thanks to Mila Zadrozny and Sue Dolan for coordinating the hunt and Ziv, Andrew and Natalie Geeza for helping the children.

Truly a blessed day for our community.

Christ is Risen! Indeed he is Risen!
