Wonders of the Small Church

The small church has incredible importance and value, although it may not carry the pomp of churches in Europe and elsewhere. I have one particular small church in mind: ours.

Alice Mara Lesperance, the daughter of Mr & Mrs Brian (Danielle) Lesperance, was received into the Orthodox Church through the Sacraments of Holy Baptism & Holy Chrismation on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church. Alice received the Holy Eucharist for the first time the following day, December 17.

The Sacraments were administered by Holy Trinity Rector, V. Rev. Marc A. Vranes, and assisted by Deacon Greg Curran. At the conclusion of Saturday's Baptism & Chrismation, Sub-deacon Michael Andrezejewski, Danielle's brother, gave an uplifting sermon on his niece's three-step initiation into the Orthodox Faith, and the responsibility that we, her parish family, have in reflecting the image of Christ to her. For some of those in attendance, it was their first time witnessing an Orthodox baptism.

Sub-deacon Michael, along with Brian's sister, Mrs Nicole Smigiel, were Alice's Sponsors. Grandparents include Dr & Mrs Chester (Kathleen) Andrzejewski, and Mr & Mrs William (Cheryl) Lesperance.

A festive catered Lenten Meal followed in the downstairs parish hall.
